The scriptures clearly tell us how to treat one another. It sets the tone for our attitude in our works and giving. Why then do professed Christians continue to treat benevolence and missionary work in such a half-hearted and careless way?

In the wake of the Haitian tragedy, we are reminded of how blessed we are and how great our capacity is to care and share. We must do as Jesus commanded in the Word: exhibit humility, treat others well and learn to put the needs of others before our own selfish desires. We must open our spiritual eyes to see beyond our own personal world and trust God for the abundance that will bless us here and abroad.
